    I am in the midst of a family emergency. I will no longer be able to run the meeting. It is not that much work. Let me know if anyone will step up or I will have to cancel it for now.

    Hi all,

     

    I support trying to keep the group together, although I can't take on organizing singlehandedly, but I would be willing to help find speakers.

     

    Last month, only two of us showed up for Amy Ballentine's presentation, Amy and me. We need to regroup so that kind of thing doesn't happen again.

     

    I'll be available for the July meeting, unless we take that off because it's the week of the 4th?

    Actually the meeting is scheduled for this week 6/11. It is the second Wednesday of the month. 
    If you can attend, there will be small group attending and you can regroup. I am so sorry that I can't lead currently. I have a family emergency which is making my schedule inconsistent

    @Michelle Mintz I’m sorry to hear about your family emergency. I haven’t been attending for the past few sessions but my schedule has availability again and I’m hoping to reconnect. Would it make sense to meet at a park or general meeting place to re-group? Offering as an idea, but I recognize that I am not part of the core group who has been attending consistently. It seems from this thread that a few people are unable to attend this week. Perhaps, pushing off the meeting until August would be best? (And going with the first or third Wednesday of the month, per the other thread)

    Reading Alison's email made me remember that the last time Amy and I showed up at the Qahwah House coffee shop where we had been meeting, there was no one there. Someone finally arrived and opened the door at 8:20 am. I think we need to find a new location.

    I’m not able to make it this Wednesday but happy to support what others decide. There’s a Panera on Orchard Lake between 14 & 15 mile. It seems to be reliably open and is generally not too crowded.

    I had talked to someone from the Bloomfield senior center who was open to hosting us. Let me go through my notes. 
    I feel we really need a private room with a tv/screen we can use. 
    I'm not going to be there tomorrow but I'm opening to a zoom next week with a few of us to brainstorm.
